Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world's oldest whole-body healing systems. It developed thousands of years ago in India. Today it is recognized by the WHO as a full medical system.
Ayurveda teaches that wellness depends on maintaining a balance between the mind, body, spirit and environment. The primary focus of Ayurvedic medicine is to promote and maintain good health, rather than fight disease.
Ayurveda recognizes that people are constitutionally unique, and are at their best when diet and lifestyle suit their specific body type's needs. Treatments and diet are recommended for specific imbalances, to cleanse and rejuvenate the body.
